2008 Book Sale Sorting Site found!
May, 2008

Maple Village is the site of the new Book Sale Sorting site in the old Hancock Fabric store space.

It has 12000 sq feet and bathrooms! Fans will be needed in hot weather. A computer hookup may be coming.


2007 Scholarships Awarded
December, 2007

After bills were paid and start-up money subtracted, our 2007 Used Book Sale net profit of $22,800 was distributed as follows:

AAUW Educational Foundation - Ann Arbor Centennial Fund Endowment $9,000
Eleanor Roosevelt Fund $1,000

Eastern Michigan University Foundation - Endowment Fund $3,000

Five local high school women seniors - $500 paid toward college tuition for each from local high schools (Community, Huron, Pioneer, Roberto Clemente, Ypsilanti) $2,500

University of Michigan Center for the Education of Women (CEW) Scholarship $5,000

Washtenaw Community College - Scholarship Fund $2,300

Our branch also supports two fully endowed scholarships at the University of Michigan


News Update
November 19, 2007

Our 2007 Used Book Sale (our 55th annual) this past September ended with a record setting gross profit of $42,000. Net profits will be used to provide scholarship money for women. Many thanks to the 120 branch members who contributed their time and effort.


First Annual Women's Diversity Summit
March 24, 2007
Ann Arbor, MI at Washtenaw Community College

A most successful Women's Diversity Summit was held at Washtenaw Community College on March 24, 2007. AAUW initiated the event under the leadership of Sally VanderVoort, but the planning and execution included eleven local organizations.
